Atlanta Still Top Relocation Destination!
For the fifth year in a row, Georgia has taken the top spot in Area Development’s 2018 list of top states for doing business. The list took into account categories such as Overall Cost of Doing Business, Corporate Tax Environment, Business Incentive Programs, Favorable Utility Rates, and more, with Georgia topping the charts in every one! Since its 2014 debut at #1, Georgia has been applauded for its pro-business environment, as well as a growing economy, and industry booms (for instance, the tech industry) that continue to bring new talent and prompt companies to relocate to our market.
But that’s not all! There are dozens of reasons why Atlanta is the best place to move if you’re considering relocation and as your local real estate expert, I’m sharing a few of them with you below!
You don’t need to secure a job right away
If you’re considering relocation to Atlanta, you can be confident in your decision regardless if you have secured a job yet or not. Chances are strong you will land one once you’ve arrived—given our booming business environment here—so there is no cause for concern prior to packing your bags. If you already have a job locked down prior to relocating, then your easy transition to Georgia is already off and running!
Lower cost of housing
Nearly 10.5 million people live in Georgia and one of the major perks residents have is a much lower cost of housing than the rest of the country. When compared to other major metro areas like San Diego or Boston, Atlanta consistently pulls a lower cost of housing which means more savings for you if you’re planning to relocate.
That also includes property taxes, which trend on the low side in Georgia. According to SmartAsset, the median annual real estate tax payment is around $600 less than the national average.
Easy access
When you relocate to Atlanta, you can reap the rewards mentioned above, as well as easy access to a major airport, chef-driven restaurants, top shopping destinations, and expanded green space! And even though Georgia is largely a driving state, the average price of a gallon of gas here is around 5% below the national average, according to gasbuddy.com.
Quick sale
If you must leave Atlanta, all the benefits listed above will also maximize the salability of your home when going to sell it. Be sure that you leverage all Atlanta has to offer in order to attract top dollar!
